Filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborates with award-winning musician Kanye West to create a film for his single Lost in the World. The song, which features Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, is taken from West’s fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Hogben’s piece breaks the mould of popular rap aesthetics while still celebrating the extraordinary talent that has made West a modern icon.

I know one pet peeve that I can’t stand is when I’m listening to my music and someone tries to converse with me, well looks like someone has put a stop to this. Designers Sunmi Hwang, Hyunjoo-Lee & Jiwon-Seok have now designed a pair of headphones that actually know when your listening and your not listening. According to Yanko Design, “The earphones are fitted with a pressure sensor in the earbuds. This helps the earphones instinctively understand if the user is still wearing his earphones or has removed them.” Would you invest in these?

The “Earth Day Social,” was held on April 22 (4pm to 8pm) at the PIA Institute of Art in Los Angeles and featured live music from DJ Printz, spoken word (RAB, Nnamdi Okafor, Jason Mars,)design/art displays(Clean Aesthetic,KnowHowShop,CKR,Killsbillion,Bomit,YOMEGZ). Additionally there was a full music performance by artist Locke Kaushal, and Sunni Colón. “World Premiere of the first green music video “Uber Super Feeling” by Zambian pop star Kachanana as well.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the day that the world lost superstar Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in a fatal car accident while vacationing in Honduras. Today new song, “Fantasies” is released in honor of the TLC star by rapper Bootleg. The German label Block Star Music released the song “Fantasies” as a charity download, where proceeds will benefit the late rapper’s youth organization, the Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Foundation, Word.
