Brastemp, the Whirlpool whitegoods manufacturer in Brazil, is running an advertising campaign with the tagline “Inspiration changes everything. And life becomes just like a Brastemp.” “Sorriso” (Smile), a television commercial viewed over 2 million times online since its launch in 2010, shows what happened when eleven Sao Paulo radio stations ran a simultaneous call for inspirational smiles. Drivers caught in early morning peak traffic were invited to smile at the person in the car next to them. The commercial catches the moment and shares the inspiration.

“Right now, millions of people at their cars, listening to the radio. All serious, sleepy, until an inspiration changes everything. We invite you to smile to the driver next to you. If he heard it, he’ll smile back …. See? Inspiration changes everything and life becomes just like… a Brastemp. ” The results can be seen on the films opening scenes of everyday life, people stuck in traffic jams. As soon as they hear the spot, they start looking around, smiling at people around them, interacting. In the end, their lives go on, inspired, taking that moment for the rest of their lives.

This is the swimming pool art installation in 21st Century Museum of Art, at Kanazawa Japan by artist Leandro Erlich. The top surface is filled with 4 to 5 inches of water that looks like a realistic pool. The people underneath the swimming pool can actually look above with realistic water effect on top of it.

A layer of water only some 10 centimeters deep is suspended over transparent glass. Below the glass is an empty space with aquamarine walls that viewers can enter.

The Swimming Pool has the size of 280x402x697cm (HxWxD), and the separating layers were made using two clear acrylic glasses about a foot apart and the space in between are filled with water.

BBDO New York, on behalf of our client Gillette, is in the process of staging the world’s biggest shave on the world’s biggest stage – New York City. We have produced a painted billboard in the heart of SoHo that features Yankees star Derek Jeter. It is being repainted daily to reflect various stages of men’s grooming e.g., Jeter with rarely seen stubble, then with shave prep, and finally with his famously clean-shaven face. The three-day cycle began on Wednesday, February 16 and will be repeated through Sunday, March 6. It’s part of Gillette’s ongoing efforts to demonstrate the outstanding performance of Gillette’s grooming regimen (or as the copy says, “Everyday masterpiece”). The billboard itself requires ten gallons of paint, as Derek Jeter’s face is about 20 feet wide, and the two painters have more than 45 years’ experience between them painting billboards.
