The coal lobby thinks “reality” is a world dependent on their dangerous product. Coal-fired power plants kill at least 13,000 people a year by spewing over 386,000 tons of pollutants, including mercury, into the air. Coal is also the most significant driver of carbon emissions, making the industry responsible for global warming that will cause more extreme weather, droughts, famine, crop failures, mass extinction of various species, as well as flooding. Not many details have surfaced about this one of a kind car, but they have stated it goes from 0-60 in less then 6 seconds. 1.) Buy Dry In Bulk – You can buy in bulk for beans and legumes, grains and breakfast cereals, nuts and seeds, dried fruits, syrups and oils, flour and baking ingredients.

2.) Say No To Soft Drinks – Simple alternative: water.

3.) Buy Organic – Buy organic on produce that makes the dirty dozen. If you have to, it’s okay to buy conventional for the rest (see also: the clean fifteen).

4.) Frozen Veggies – Canned veggies lose nutrients, so choose frozen and you won’t have to worry about them going bad.

5.) Shop The Farmer’s Market – You end up cutting out the middle man and benefitting from farmers looking to make deals directly with consumers.

Already known as a bike-friendly city Portland, Oregon host yearly events like Bicycle Show and Portland Naked Bike Ride just to name a few. But with the latest new Portland will be joining other cities (Washington D.C., Boston, and New York City) in trying to reduce fossil fuels in their cities. The Bike Share Program is designed to allow citizens to pick up a bike when they need it and to be able to bring it back when they are done, but it does include a small fee. The Bike Share Program is set to kick off by 2013. Would you like this to be added to your city?
