Photographer Discovers Another World

Photographer Sharon Johnstone captures this amazing image of a Dandelion flower seed blowing in the wind.
With macro photography I escape to another little world. I love exploring the tiny details in nature that often get over looked. I love finding beautiful colours and abstract compositions within nature and can even get passionate about photographing moss or a blade of grass.
I think I am at my happiest when I am crawling around on my hands and knees exploring a small patch of moss dripping with sparkling dew in the early morning sun.

These Are Not Photographs

“The hyperrealistic images [in this post] are, in fact, drawings made by Scotland-based artist Paul Cadden. Cadden’s incredible skill captures an intense vision even beyond the capabilities of photography. Whether drawing water droplets, billowing cigarette smoke or creating dusty forehead wrinkles, the artist carefully lingers over every detail. Through this act, his textures, subjects and scenes come to life, evoking an artistic intensity that arguably transcends that of an image captured in an instant by a camera. Cadden, who states on his website his goal to “intensify the normal,” creates a world where every detail is seen, realized and appreciated. We wish real life were a little more like this, don’t you?” -Source

Gravity-Defying Land Art by Cornelia Konrads
German artist Cornelia Konrads creates mind-bending site-specific installations in public spaces, sculpture parks and private gardens around the world. Her work is frequently punctuated by the illusion of weightlessness, where stacked objects like logs, fences, and doorways appear to be suspended in mid-air, reinforcing their temporary nature as if the installation is beginning to dissolve before your very eyes.
