FEBRUARY 14TH BJ THE CHICAGO KID WILL BE DROPPING HIS ALBUM PINEAPPLE NOW & LATERS. Earlier this week he joined us up at Portfolio 360 to dicuss his music, California, get a shape up from Meek in our barbershop and snap a few photos in our showroom.
There’s no question when you first hear the Chi Town Kids voice, there’s a lot of soul inside, like a grown man is being delivered from his vocals when he lets it out. Something that I have not quite heard in awhile, its refreshing.
Now living in Los Angles California, I aked BJ what it is that he brought with him from Chicago. He simply stated with no hesitation and conviction, authenticity and honesty.

Although, living in LA has had an impact on the singer. He knows that everyday he wakes up, is another shot to obtain his dreams.
So what else is BJ dreaming about? “Directing Movies.” He told me he actually has been working on a script “The Life of Loves Cupid.” He explains his music as a small showcase of film.
Growing up he had vivid memories of playing at his cousins house, his favorite candy , Pineapple Now & Laters, the title of February 14th album release. He explained the title as being not typical, “Its what I thought was cool.” As far as the release day, “I wanted to tack it on a good day.”
First it was to be his mothers birthday, December 27th, however musically it would not have been in time. Instead he has a dope tribute to his mother, a photo of the two of them together graces the cover of the album.
