“Prepare to be amazed/repulsed/intrigued/impressed by Koen Hauser. A Gerrit Rietveld graduate and apparently one of those artists that never likes to do the same project twice, Koen’s portfolio boasts a huge range of remarkable photographs focusing on uncommon concepts such as anatomy, ephemera, precious stones and catfish.

This project (from 2000) entitled Anatomy delves into what lies beneath a model’s skin and as Koen states: “The – at the time – groundbreaking way of applying digital manipulation in this elegant dissection of the human body has made this series very popular.” And he’s not wrong. This series of unsettlingly beautiful portraits have been featured in almost too many magazines to mention, and due to their ability to keep being fantastic as the years go by, continue to do so.”
